WordPress Photography Portfolio for Lynn Terry
Lynn Terry, a photographer whose services we often use at Big Wheel, was in need of a refreshed photography portfolio that she could update easily herself. Big Wheel took on the project, and decided to create a site using the fabulous WordPress platform (have I ever mentioned how much I love WordPress?). Photos are added just like blog posts, sortable into featured photos and different categories. In addition to the site, I also redesigned the logo and created business cards to go with. The new look of the site and identity is professional but playful, and captures some of the edgy style that characterizes Lynn’s work. Lynn Terry’s name fills the frame of the logo in an interesting composition, the same as a photographer does with their subject. The business cards (and the logo) have the same aspect ratio of a 35mm photo, providing Lynn a unique & memorable way to leave behind her contact info.

Improved Concept and Character for Centric
Our team at Big Wheel recently took on a project to rework the web site for Centric Health Resources, a health management company aiding patients, pharmaceutical manufacturers and health care providers in implementing specialized health care. A brand new concept, ‘Patient-Centered Health Management’, was used in the new design. Illustrated through a ‘health care universe’ with patients at the center and Centric as the shuttle between parties, the new design has a high level of energy and personality that moves past the clinical, stock photo approach that defines the look of many of Centric’s competitors in the health care industry.
The new site makes use of flash, illustrations, and a wealth of information in the Knowledgebase to demonstrate the ‘thought-leadership’ style with which Centric leads their industry.

Studio Mathewes’ New Portfolio Site and Blog
Studio Mathewes is a photography studio specializing in Wedding and portrait photography. The goal of this new identity and web site was to present a polished, professional look, while at the same time displaying some of the playful personality and artistic concepts that appear in their work. The site uses Movable Type as a content management and blog platform, and Simple Viewer flash gallery to present photographs.

David Walker Studios’ Online Portfolio
The David Walker Studios’ new portfolio site has a clean, minimal presentation that lets the illustrations shine, but also includes some small graphic details that show the playful side of the artist. The home page is a simple slideshow of the artist’s logo collaged with several of his illustrations. The portfolio page uses a simple javascript gallery that keeps navigation simple and degrades gracefully if viewed on an older or less compatible browser. This project was created with Marcella Hawley Creative.
