J.Crawford Apothecary is the entrepreneurial vision of one woman with the desire to share her passion for the benefits of essential oils as a supplement to modern medicine. While warmth, tradition, and calm are a focus of this identity created at Big Wheel, the client also stressed the need to differentiate J.Crawford Apothecary from the multitudes of earthy and eccentric essential oils vendors currently in the market. This new identity and site balances warmth and sophistication with soft hues, vibrant photos, clean typography, and plentiful white space. These essential oils look inviting not just to the ‘alternative’ crowd, but to the modern bourgeoisie as well.

Site, Gallery, and Store for Flourishes Papercrafts
Flourishes LLC, a papercraft, cardmaking, and stamp retailer, needed a crafty new e-commerce site to better connect with their customers and fans. Under the direction of Marcella Hawley, I contributed to the design and development of a full-featured site with a shopping cart, blog, CMS, and photo gallery to share their creations and generate discussion. The shopping cart software used is Volusion, and the main site, blog, and gallery are managed through a custom WordPress setup.

Revamped E-Commerce for Green Stuff Connection
The Greenstuff Connection e-commerce site was re-designed for a client who owns and runs an organic retail business from home. Having a polished but personal boutique look was key for the company image. The design features down-to-earth colors and type treatment with a focus on organizing information to make the products attractive and make purchasing easy. Other improvements include a robust, customized, open source shopping cart and client-managed content. Project created at CIO Services.
